About the Event
The inauguration of Brown Paper Bags Gone Wild evolved in 2004 as a way to pay homage to salvaging natural elements. These natural elements birthed my creativity, which also derives from my mother – the beta, to whom used the brown paper bag to curl hair, cook a meal, and create costumes. Over the 14 years, the saga has continued to mature into one of a kind wearable art and accessories, made with recycled materials and textiles of African descent.
